Green Pastures Hospital - Nepal
The Rotary Club of Regency Park has been supporting healthcare and community development programmes in Nepal since 2014.
The connection is with International Nepal Fellowship (INF), a Christian NGO based in Pokhara since 1952 and relates to a member who, with his wife, had worked with the organisation since 2001.
INF and its partner organisations, provide care particularly for the disadvantaged and marginalised, focussing on communities in Western Nepal.

Green Pastures Hospital in Pokhara began as a Leprosy Hospital in 1957 but has evolved into a major centre for holistic care of people with a range of problems including spinal injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, and ear disease. Its palliative care services are the first in the country. Along with the detection and treatment of Leprosy, INF has been instrumental in developing Nepal’s first Urinary Fistula service.

Including assistance from the Rotary Foundation District Grant’s Programme, the club has provided almost $100, 000 of support including, wheelchairs, materials for limb prosthetics, an autoclave, an industrial washing machine, water purification, an operating theatre light, portable Xray machine, anaesthetic machine, LED examination lights and solar panels for a village birthing centre.
INF’s response to the 2015 earthquake and recent tragic floods have reinforced the need for ‘the club’, as an arm of Rotary International, to remain contributing to INF’s vision of providing opportunity for people to experience ‘ life in all its fullness’.
